Abstract : 
A man makes his living by exhibiting himself  in a cage at local  fairs, the whole interest  for the audience being to see him  fasting to the utmost point of  physical decay, thus becoming an object of  horrible fascination.
In Kafka's own distinctive style, we delve into the inner workings of the man facing the audience (or  facing himself ...?)
A fairly puzzling story.
These drawings are intended as a set of "visual reading notes", not so much an illustration of the story as a personal vision of some of the psychological issues at play...
